Just in case some of the newer users don't know, if you register you will see notifications of new messages in the message areas. Also you will be able to use more of the forums features. If you are not logging in you will be considered a Guest by the forum (which is fine). you can read and post messages but with limited abilities. Hmm, looks like the voting system may require you to be registered (logged in) before you can participate in any polls. Al

Just to let you guy know that the new picnic tables have been ordred, and with a little wheeling and dealing I managed to get the cost down below $150 a table, complete. I hope the club will be happy with the new additions. I am also working on getting the sunshelter painted and new shingles on the barn roof, more updates at the next meeting. Ray

New picnic tables are in production this week, all materials were bought and paid for last Friday. Hopefully will see the finished product next week. I have a meeting with the head of Job Corps next week (tenative) to look at painting and new barn roof. New white fold up tables for the clubhouse look like about $50.00 each + gst. We will get things fixed up this year. Jim M called and he has the crack filler, now we just need a warm day. Ray

Outhouse update: sorry I must of hit a button and I don't know what happened to my last post. In summary, the new outhouse is in production with white siding and shingles to match the barn. Two windows for light and hopefully a steel door to be installed. Jim M and I are going out next week to drill a new hold and level the ground. The old outhouses will be taken down and crushed (thank goodness). Plan is to have the new house out there in a couple of weeks depending on Job Corps schedule. I am slightly overbudget at $750 spent, but I will be a nice looking structure that will add to our facilty. Job corps has out paint job next on there list when the weather changes. Ray

Update for capital projects at the field: Painting of sun shelter is completed and a new roof has been put on the barn. New table placed in the clubhouse, anyone who wants the old wood free standing tables is welcome to take them home. Outhouse and picnic tables are very close to completion. The new outhouse is pretty nice and boasts a steel door, (with dead bolt for privacy) nicely sided and shingled, single holer with urinal. Four custom made window are built and placeded near the top of the building. This should give us adequate lighting. A roof vent has been added and it will be partially sheeted inside and painted. So far I am at about $825 dollars spent. But all major parts of the project are finished and it will be a nice looking asset to our field.
I realize I am over budget, but like all projects the cost of material keeps changing. I plat to return some unused siding this week which should drop the project cost to below $800. Also Jim Miller is donating the use of a bobcat to make the new plumbing fixture in the ground. It will be located beside the red barn (to the east) with the door point north like all the other buildings. The reason for that location is to minimize wind problems and to use that area because it is already flat.
On behalf of the club I have donated donuts for the working crew at Alberta Job Corps and I also I purchased several smaller items out of my own pocket as a donation to the project. Alberta Job corps has gone out of there way to make this project work. They are even going to haul the new building to the field for free. Thanks, Ray Shannon

Paul, ;D I was afraid to welcome you at first, it was your username that scared me off. Not sure about the rest... Anyone that calls themselves Crash needs to be handled with care! ;D
Anyway, so far you seem harmless so let me be the first to welcome you to this place!
