Just like to say how much fun I had Sunday and I really enjoyed seeing so many members out flying and telling war stories. That is what it is all about, just a nice place to go and have a laugh or two and maybe even make a decent landing. Thanks to Todd for bringing out a potential new member and introducing him around, he as been in contact with me and is now going to sign up. Ray

Hello; Just moved to The Hat, and although I've never gotten too far with RC, I do build free flight scale models and wondered if anyone here might also be inclined that way? Haven't done much yet but try to unpack stuff, get myself orientated, and dream of summer. Looks like you've got a wonderful field, almost enough to tempt me! My apologies if this isn't appropriate for an RC board. If anyone is interested, a few of us hang out on line at www.hippocketaeronautics.com/hpa_forum/index.phpThanks Doug

Thanks Dave. I will make it out to your field one day. I do have a RC sailplane but never have gotten very far with it without help or a high start, maybe now. Another question, do the club members do any indoor flying in the winter? Doug

Hi Doug why dont you come to our January meeting to meet some of use. It is on monday the 19. It is posted on another forum on this website, where it is. We have talked about indoor flying but have not found a venue to fly at as of yet. We take every chance in the good weather to fly though. We were out this weekend.

Thanks for the offer Ken, I'll take you up on it! I'll try and make the meeting next week, it's pretty close to where I'm living so I shouldn't get lost. Doug

Sorry, no motor Weind, it's a Sophisticated Lady. I've had it gliding under control with a hand toss, but it's just a little bit bigger than what I'm used to throwing! This morning it was a Dime scale Aeronca C-3 that weighs 17 gms. I suspect there would be some pretty nice hills to launch from around here for a little slope soaring, and some wicked thermals to watch for.
Haven't found that thread yet Ken, but I'll keep looking.
Doug

Ian. Who the heck gave you the reins and said you could give Ken a hard time. I thought that was my full time position.
Ken. I understand why your flying gliders. When you get a little better on the sticks and can handle the power of a engine, I'm sure you'll be back flying with the boys. If I had it, then lost it, I would feel the same way.
Doug. Once again welcome to the forums. Don't pay any attention to the kids, they need a good spanking once in awhile.
