I am running a dodge caravan 2006 and one evening traveled a 100 kms. the power steering was whining ,I thought low on oil. When I went to come home I had no whine, when I arrived the whine was back. So the next day I found my degrees gauge and went for a drive, around 20 kms. it came back so I checked the temp it was 80 to 90. So if I had a high pressure leak it would be around 120 , so that ment pump starvation. I put the van on blocks to look for a filter their is non. That left only the reservoir to check, and it is inside the housing and I changed it and the noise is gone. Thanks for not taking out the pump. It is a little awkward to work on but it is done
