I found where a club in US of A were having a noise problem and a bi law was passed . Noise test is a max. 85Db at full power at 33 ft. or 10M while it is retained on the ground. Man this includes prop noise and all other things that make sound. I raced boats and their was a noise problem raising it ugly head so we passed a noise law, it was at 90Db at approx.25 ft boat at WOT moving down the straight away. this caused me to buy a Db meter having it pass a government inspection and corrected , as they make them on the high side. Now to quiet the noise and not loose power was the problem I tried and failed many times but finally made the Db line to race altho I lost about 2 sec a lap which is 12 sec total in a race .Every boat was checked as it passed the start line and sometimes during the race and if it did not pass you pulled it in the next lap as you were DQ ed and were done with that boat for the day. The next day it started all over but no one tried to pull the wool over any ones eyes. All in all it was very pricy for every boat it could be 75.00 to unlimited if you had bad luck. So lets not start a Db go round with any thing as we will be losers
