At last nights meeting it was announced that all out of town visitors are welcome to come and fly at our field (no-fees), as long as they have a valid MAAC membership card. This policy has been in place for ages, we just wanted to make sure everyone knew about it.

We have always welcomed out-of-town flyers, that is what the hobby is all about. I have met some great guys who come to town for a visit. What is important is that if we see someone we don't know flying at the field be friendly, but you still have the right as a club member to ask for their MAAC. The only real rule difference at our club and needs to be discussed with visiting flyers is to avoid flying over the gun club buildings. We are allowed to fly over the north end of the gun range, but not over their buildings on the south side. Other than that standard MAAC safety code applies.

Can a visitor still fly at your field without wings certification? I have no formal training and the closest field to me is 65mi away that is a sanctioned club that I visit time to time. There requirement was to give a demonstration of my flying and they were satisfied with that. I am going to be purchasing a trailer this spring and was going to hit the road this up coming season and visit as many clubs as I can.
Thanks

My learning to fly was on a lesser used "Chinese" paved country road with persistent cross wind and steep ditches . The club airfield I visit has awesome built grass runways where you can approach with a vein and flare. We also visit an abandend air strip 1/2 hour from us thats paved that I enjoy. I do know there's more than one movement on the left stick if that's what your asking. Mostly we fly at a friends farm yard after we clear the cow paddies of it Kevin Morrison MAAC 79035
